Fun Hypnosis While Learning

Hypnosis is a novelty experience for some

When I talk about hypnosis with people, I am hoping someone wants to try it.  I really enjoy inducing trance and dropping people under hypnosis.  I want everyone to know how wonderful the feeling is when in trance. Some will leap at the chance to try it, while others will need to be persuaded to.  When I first introduce people into trance, I like to make sure they are safe and know what I will be doing.  There is a prep talk that I do that does two things.  First, to show off my knowledge of what I know and second, help prep them for trance.

What I like to do is what I like to call “Hypno Parlor Tricks.”  It is a set of hypnosis done almost all the time with little time and feeling the effects of hypnosis.  It consists of three suggestions or triggers I use that I have seen many hypnotists do over and over again for people just trying it out.  I found them on youtube videos and such.  I was watching youtube since it first started about and saw many hypnosis videos.  Many of which wasn't good but some that were very informative.  And I also looked for suggestions I liked and molded them to my liking.

The first suggestion I try on people is the number amnesia.  I make them forget a number, usually 6 but it depends on what I feel like or say at the time.  After I make them forget, I have them do basic math for a bit.  Most of the time they do not realize they are skipping over a number and I just say very good no matter what they say.  Then I have them count on their fingers to “make sure” the hypnosis didn't screw up their brain.  When they find out they have 11 fingers it is quite a shock.  And they sometimes count a couple more times in order to figure it out.  Once they are kind of confused, I dropped them back (I now realize I do not need to but back then I did) and make them believe the missing number is now moo.  As in they will say moo instead of the number.  I have them then count again and feel like the number is back before having them do math problems again with the answer being the same number (guess which one).

The next trick I do is a favorite of mine.  Again it is hypno amnesia and it is with my name.  Whenever I touch my nose they will forget my name, and when I am not touching my nose they will remember.  This evolved from the just "your name is gone till I give it back" suggestion.  There is a bit more play and it is fun when they remember for a split second.  Now what was a funny moment when I did this was the fact that I have a nickname, so when I told the subjects my name Jeff is gone,  I asked my name and they said Tofu.  I got a good laugh from everyone all around because the hypnotist normally is not outsmarted like that.  I dropped the sub and made sure that did not happen again.  Although in the future I might let it slide because I love to make people laugh at my own expense.

The last one I do is called stuck tight or the bound suggestion.  However you want to call it, I make the subject stick to things.  It is actually done when the subject is awake to show off waking hypnosis.  Waking hypnosis is just suggestions given to the subject while they are “awake.” Subjects are in a trance-like state when they just come out of hypnosis and if told properly then suggestions can be implanted while they are awake.  When I do this I bind the trigger to Stuck tight because of how many times I say it.  The subconscious remembers what is being said and binds the words to the effect.  They get their hand stuck to the table first usually then I have them get their heads.  And then finally stuck to me somehow.
After those three I ask if they would like to experience more.  The answer is usually no and I abide by it.  I always hope for continual sessions but most people just want to feel it once and be done for life.  For some, this is a novelty experience to cross off their bucket list.  I just hoped I deliver.  Hope you guys got some fun suggestion ideas for when you do it in person and I hoped you like the videos of where I got the ideas.
until next time ;)
